About us.
SMARTs’ roots go back ten years.
Our sister scheme First Check Point was established in 1998 to assist the elderly and vulnerable with finding trustworthy tradesmen - a model adopted in other areas of the UK by Age Concern. We’ve been in Partnership with the Buy With Confidence Scheme since 2005 and have worked closely with West Sussex Trading Standards over a number of years.
A decade of hard work has earned us good relations with Neighborhood Watch, Age Concern and various local government departments - not to mention countless consumers and businesses.
SMART is a small team of people with two important roles to fulfill.
• To offer consumers an alternative to vague assurances and business driven standards when looking for a trader.
• To help trades and service providers better understand how technology is raising the bar and to provide the tools to take action.
SMART is a small company, so we’re flexible, innovative and will adapt quicker than most when it’s time to change. We have the skills and the enthusiasm to provide new services fast. Our most valuable skill - listening to what people have to say and learning from what we hear.
Our company thrives on three core values:
Partnership - recognising that cooperation is the key to creating and sustaining anything worthwhile.
Integrity - putting ethics before business goals.
Knowledge - the more we endeavor to provide it, the more we discover for ourselves.
Ten years of working with tradesmen and listening to customers have given us a real insight into what both parties want from each other. We understand better than most how the relationship is changing.
As technology continues to evolve at a breathless pace; so will the habits of consumers. All businesses, large and small, will need to adapt. Our job is to make sure they don’t get left behind.
